You can’t handle the truth! The TDT Waveform makes its debut

WAVEFORM

Talent borrows, genius steals

Here at The Tapes can argue about anything. What restaurant, what bar, what ever…and if we do ever finally decide, then we argue about if we are having starters or straight to mains and while were at it, what’s anyone drinking?

So you can imagine the absolute impossibility of us deciding on a tagline that attempted to throw a blanket over all of us.

So again Mujiki picked up the big neon magenta Batphone and called Rei at FugaceFugace.

“The Tapes, they use a lot of analog things and such” says Rei “and they obsessed that nothing is lost if it is sent digitally, like for their Soundcloud. I just hear it a lot from them, to keep the truth, even in zeroes and ones, so that was it, that phrase from Jean-Luc Godard that film is “the truth, twenty four times a second came to mind. This the same things, every digital slice they broadcast is transmitting the truth as it was in the moment. It became a natural choice to use an actual waveform in designs. It’s an immediate mnemoic for The Tapes, their philosophy.”

And so it was, and what more appropriate than using an actual soundwave from the very first release, yes… DarkArc001, Lillit Vega’s The Great CollideHer.

“It is super-thrilling” giggles Lillit. “Not only am I the first release on The Tapes, I’m the actual visual for the whole label. Of course Amarah, Ronja and Etta hate me now, but I can’t help it if I’m immortal”
